About Sophia
My Story
Stories distill the truth and help people find themselves. I love telling stories, whether through music, text or ceremony. I have been telling stories my entire life, and was first published at the age of 12. I’m a queer author & songwriter based in Vancouver, Canada, with a rich network of beloved friends and a life I adore.
Personal Life
Sophia works from her 1910 restored craftsman home in Vancouver with a loving feline receptionist. She keeps a messy garden and loves all four of her callings: writing, composing and performing music, teaching, and helping businesses and non-profits do good things better.
Sophia is an expert about some of the subjects she writes about – ecological sustainability, queer relationships, and magic. She is sadly not yet an expert on time travel or goats, but studied physics for a time at UBC on a math and physics scholarship. She has a web developement and marketing company in Vancouver Canada.
Sophia is a singer songwriter and the lead singer in the dyke country band, Bushy Park. She co-founded a Vancouver-based workers’ coop that has been installing solar panels since 2004.
She has been in a number (let’s just not say how many) of queer relationships over the past 35 years and has a daunting amount of friendly exes who attend her birthday parties.
As a Wiccan priestess, she has been studying and teaching energy magic for 30 years. She fixes her own plumbing and competes for couch space with a large tomcat in Vancouver Canada.
